VISA SERVICES
The Embassy shall issue tourist visa, diplomatic visa and official visa only. All other types of visas to Nepal shall be issued by Department of Immigration in Kathmandu, Nepal ( www.nepalimmigration.gov.np)
Types of Visas issued at the Embassy.
Visitors who wish to apply for Tourist Visa to Nepal must fill an online visa application form available at the following portal:
https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/onlinevisa-mission/application
All the personal details to be filled and the required documents to be submitted for the visa are clearly indicated in the above-mentioned portal.
A confirmation slip will be generated at the end of the online application process.
Visa Hours:
Applicants of tourist visa for Nepal are requested to visit the Embassy on the working days (Monday - Friday) during consular hours from 09:30 to 13:00 hours.

Application Procedure:
Applicants can submit documents for visa and collect their passports in person or through their agents/representatives.
Processing Time:
It takes 5 working days for the issuance of a tourist visa. In case of travel document holders, it will take 7-10 working days. Applicants shall collect their passport within the consular hours, i.e. 09:30 to 13:00 hours.
Visa Upon Arrival:
Nationals of most of the countries of the world, including all Europeans nationals, can also obtain tourist visa upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, or other entry points via land. However, the nationals of the following countries cannot obtain visa upon arrival: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Cameroon, Swaziland, Somalia, Liberia, Iraq, Ethiopia, Palestine, Syria and Afghanistan. Note: Applicants visiting the Embassy without filling up the online visa application form will not be entertained.
Visa Fees:
Children below 10 years of age obtain gratis visa free of charge for 1 month.

When applying for a Diplomatic Visa to Nepal, applicants should fill up the online visa application form available at the following portal:

A confirmation slip will be generated at the end of the online application process.
Diplomatic visa shall be issued to a person holding a diplomatic passport who needs to visit Nepal in connection with his/her official duty. Diplomatic visa is also issued to the family members of such person when they are accompanying the person.
The diplomatic visa shall be issued by the Embassy for a period of 30 days on the basis of reciprocity. The term thereof may be extended, if required, from the Department of Consular Services, Kathmandu for the remaining term of the official assignment in Nepal.
Required Documents for A Diplomatic Visa:
1. Original diplomatic passport with at least 6 months" validity.
2. One recent passport-size photograph
3. A confirmation slip generated from the online visa application portal
4. A note verbale from the Foreign Ministry/diplomatic mission/ international organisation or equivalent offices with a request for a diplomatic visa, stating clearly the purpose and period of the visit.
Note: Applicants visiting the Embassy without filling up the online visa application form will not be entertained.

An official visa shall be issued to a person holding an official/ordinary passport who needs to visit Nepal in connection with his/her official duty. Official visa is also issued to the family members of such person when they are accompanying the person.
The official visa shall be issued by the Embassy for a period of 30 days on the basis of reciprocity. The term thereof may be extended, if required, from the Department of Consular Services, Kathmandu for the remaining term of the official assignment in Nepal.
